House. Dated l880. Built for Bathurst estate, probably by John
Birch. Coursed squared limestone with ashlar dressings; Welsh
slate roof; ashlar stacks with grouped flues, 4 to left end
and 2 to right. House is in Jacobethan style; double-pile
plan; one gable to front. 2-storey 2-window range. Pair of
3-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion-and-transom windows with
leaded lights to first floor under hoodmould which breaks
upwards to centre to enclose carved datestone with Bathurst
monogram and coronet and date 1880. Moulded stone cill. Ground
floor has 2 similar 3-light windows with leaded upper lights
under hoodmoulds and with moulded cills. Part-glazed plank
door in moulded stone surround with four-centred arched head
and hoodmould to centre. Relieving arches and moulded string
over ground floor openings. Moulded stone eaves cornice. Gable
has stepped moulded coping with carved kneelers and finials to
each side and apex. Coped verges with ball finials on kneelers
to each side. INTERIOR not inspected; said to incorporate shed
opening to rear in ground floor; rear and adjoining yard not
inspected.
