GV II
House and attached front wall and railings. c1750. Stucco with brick rear wings; graduated slate roof with stucco end stacks, tile to rear. Double-depth plan with 2 rear wings and attached outbuildings. Georgian style. 3 storeys; symmetrical 5-window range. Top cornice and parapet; coped gables. Round-headed entrance has aedicule with fluted Doric antae and triglyph entablature; fanlight with radial glazing bars over paired 3-fielded-panel doors. Windows have sills and 12-pane sashes, 6-pane sashes to 2nd floor. Left return has segmental-headed windows to 1st floor with 9-pane sashes, cogged cornice and cross-axial stack. Attached outbuilding has coped gables and varied openings. Rear has projecting gabled wing to right, entrance in trellis porch and shallow bay with tripartite sash to left; round-headed stair window. Brick walls with ashlar entablatures connect house to low ashlar front walls with iron railings, and enriched wrought-iron gate piers, paired gates and overthrow. Railings and gates were listed on 6.3.70.
