ST BRIAVELS EAST STREET SO 50 SE (south side) 6/169 No 1 (St Mary's Chantry) (previously listed as 7.8.54 St Mary's Chantry) - II Remains of chantry chapel, now a dwelling. C16. Coursed sandstone rubble, Welsh slate roof gable to road and hipped rear, with coursed sandstone stack set at 45° on outer angle, and a second stack on cross gable to left. 2½ storeys, 1-windowed, single light with hollow chamfer surround in gable, over two 2-light steel casements to wood lintels and remains of moulded stopped drips, and C19 hexagonal bay in brick, to left of which is C20 glazed door. On return, left, a blocked single light at first floor similar to that in gable, front, over a blocked opening to a segmental arch. Interior completely modified, the front ground floor room is unusually lofty, and has a chamfered beam. A remnant only of a former chapel.
