Details
HEWELSFIELD BROCKWEIR ST 50 SW 5/48 Moravian Chapel - II Moravian chapel. 1832 Smooth rendered over painted rubble plinth, concrete tile roof with un-rendered bell-cote at north end. A long narrow building with entrance to south, and adjoining the residence, now Woolaston House (qv) to north. Entrance has pair of early C20 doors plus Art Nouveau glazing up 4 steps in gabled porch with stopped drip over elliptical opening, a small louvred lancet over. River front has 4 lancets with stopped drips, and opposite side 3 similar. Interior much modified in 1902 with good Art Nouveau joinery including gallery at entrance end, and windows. This, with the former Manse, a fine group immediately beside and parallel with the River Wye. (VCH, Gloucestershire, Vol X)
