Detached house; C15, C17. Thin rubble stone, some larger quoins, tiled roof. Two rooms per floor around central chimney, but wide plan: one storey, second wholly in roof. Gable to road two 2- light casement windows ground floor (one replaces door), timber lintels, thin stone hoodmould: above a 3-light similar. on right door and window with similar head; vertical joint in stonework, two unlintelled casement windows. At ground level two large, irregular stones project, one near door, one at right corner, originally bases for crucks. Above stone-faced cross gable, timber posts each side, 2-light casement window, with collar and tie beam truss above, wattle and daub infill. Interior: large open fireplace in far room, chamfered timber lintel with pyramid stops, oven off. Inserted floor over room, with deep chamfered beams dividing ceiling into eight compartments. Two iron casements survive. In front of chimney stack a large arch-braced open cruck truss, complete save ground-floor section of one cruck: large chamfer with central groove. One brace cut for doorhead first floor: some later timber-framed infill. On road side of chimney a spere truss, complete to tie-beam level save for lower part of one post and one arch brace. Ovolo moulding to surviving brace, wattle and daub infill between it and post. House enlarged 1970's.
