LEEDS SPOUT HILL TQ 85 SW (south west side)
3/116 1,2 and 3 Merriams Farm Cottages (formerly 20.10.52. listed as Merriams) GV II House, now house row. C15 and later, with C19 alterations. Timber framed, ground floor partly clad in painted brick, otherwise pebble- dashed. Right half of main range C19 red brick, partly in Flemish bond. Plain tile roof. At right-angles to road, set well back. 2 storeys, with attic to right. 2 left end bays project forward slightly from rest; that to right has underbuilt jetty with plain dragon post to left end, and added left end bay is jettied with stone pier to left. Roof hipped, with gablet to left and break in level between 2 left end bays and rest. Projecting stone stack with 2 diagonally set rendered brick flues to left end, one projecting brown and one gault brick stack to front elevation, multiple red brick stack in rear slope of roof towards centre of main range and red brick stack to rear at right end. Dormer in right hip. Irregular fenestration of 6 windows; two 3-light C19 casements to left 2 bays; two C19 three-light windows with round-headed lights under wood hood-moulds to left half of main range; and one C20 single light and one 4-light C19 Gothick window to right half of main range. Half-glazed and panelled doors; to right end of left bay, beneath main stack, and adjacent to latter to right up 2 steps. Rendered stair turret behind main stack. Interior not inspected.
