GV II
Barn and attached stable and building. Barn C17, partly rebuilt C18/early C19. Stable and building late C18/C19. Barn timber framed with brick infill and weatherboarding. Tile roof. 4 Days. Central wide plank doors. Plank door in first bay. 2 shuttered openings, To rear: Wall rebuilt, partly in C18, partly in C19 red brick. Interior: Retaining wall and braces. Queen strut roof. Additional C19 roof trusses. Stable and building attached on left. Red brick. Tie roof. L-plan, with wing to rear. Stable to front has 2 doors and 2 small fixed light windows. Brick segmental arches. Large half-darner hayloft door on left. Left return side has gable with brick corbelling and dovecote with brick openings and landing platforms. Building beyond altered, with two C20 garage,doors inserted. End wall has blocked opening and pitch door with brick segmental arches+ Sable parapet and kneelers. Forms a group with Common Farmhouse (q,v.). Included for group value. (V.C.H.: Warwickshire, Vol.III, p.176).
