Row of cottages, former Township Workhouse; mid C18 2-cell cottage with some chamfered mullioned windows, has added L-shaped block to south c.1830. Hammer dressed stone, stone slate roof and modern slate roof.2 storeys. Added range to left has on east front quoins and 3 bays of 5-light flat faced mullioned windows to each floor, some mullions removed, and doorway in 1st bay with monolithic jambs. Left hand return wall has gable stack. One other to ridge. Right hand return wall has doorways with tie-stone jambs set either side of 2-square windows with same over to 1st floor. Hipped roof joins earlier cottage at right angles. This has quoins and doorway with monolithic jambs and slightly overlapping lintel to left of 2-light chamfered mullioned window. Other windows lack mullions but preserve chamfered surrounds. 3 stacks to ridge. Rear of each range preserves some flat faced mullioned windows.
