WARMINGTON CHURCH HILL SP4047 (South side) 9/215 Group of 9 headstones E of S porch of Church of St. Michael
GV II
Group of 9 headstones. Mid and late C17 and early c18, Carved ironstone. 3 rows or 3 headstones. They include a simple design dated 1644 with shaped top and sunk panel, 2 headstones have a shaped scroll top with with central head; and dated 1675 has a panel with moulded architrave eared at top and bottom and an inscription to Thomas Wats; the other of 1676 has a moulded panel and sides with garlands, and an inscription to Henry Tue. 3 headstones have a large cartouche, 2 al them with a winged heady one of 1719 has 4 putti and skull at the base. Another headstone dated 1677 has a winged head and circular wreathed panel and inscription to 0Drothy Tue. 2 headstones have segmental tops, central head, festoons and fielded panel; that of 1702 is in high relief. Two are also inscribed on the reverse.
