Milepost. Mid to late C19. Cast-iron triangular front, on stone post, with rounded top. Raised letters read:

BARNSLEY & GRANGEMOOR ROAD BRETTON WEST

HUDDERSFIELD BARNSLEY 10¼ MILES 6 MILES BRETTON ½ MILE

The post marks the route of the Barnsley and Grangemoor turnpike road of 1758-9.
