ELLAND NORTH DEAN ROAD SE 078223 1/72 Tinker Hey Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Late cl7. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storey. 2 room plan with entry at rear. Front has quoins and lean-to outshut. C19 inserted doorway to left of 2 double chamfered mullioned windows with hood moulds with straight returns, both of 4-lights, one with two mullions removed. String course with cavetto moulding and two further double chamfered mullioned windows of 4-lights with hoodmould to first floor. Attached lower cottage, early C18, has mullioned window of 4-lights with square reveals and double squared recess to both floors. Internally this lower cottage is open to roof with timbered post and truss construction rising from first floor level with queen-strut roof and diagonally set ridge. Internal stack has 4-centred arch- headed fireplace with chamfered jambs. Rear line late C18 kitchen wing forming L-plan with 3-light flush flat faced mullion window with 10-pane glazing bars to each and 4-light mullioned window above and quoined angles. Internal ridge stack to gable.
