GAYDON KINETON ROAD SP35SE (North side) 8/69 Stable at Gaydon Manor 30/05/67 Farmhouse

GV II

Stable, said to be dated 1689; altered mid C20. Regular coursed lias; raised slightly in C19/C20 brick. Ironstone quoins and dressings. Tile roof. 2 high storeys and attic; 5 bays. Central wide doorway. First and fourth bays have windows altered to doorways. Plank half-doors. Other windows partly blocked. All openings have partial glazing and alternating brick surrounds. Pitch door with wood lintel inserted above second bay. Stone cartouche and cornucopiae above central bay. Said to have initials MAS. Reconstructed gable has C20 window. Interior not inspected. Included for group value. (V.C.H.: Warwickshire, Vol, 5, p.88).
