WEST TISBURY PYTHOUSE PARK ST 92 NW (east side)
4/291 Tunnel under Pythouse drive 6.1.66 GV II
Tunnel over main road, below disused east drive to Pythouse (q.v.). Probably early C19. Rock-faced limestone stilted segmental arched portals to barrel-vaulted tunnel, low parapet with square end piers. Carries driveway in avenue of limes, entered through C18 gates north of Hatch House (q.v.), possible that this drive diverted westwards to Pythouse over this tunnel, following the acquisition of Hatch House by the Benetts in mid C19.
