GV II

Barn, now 2 houses. Late C15 or early C16, altered C18 and converted 1989. Timber-frame and hammer dressed stone. Stone slate roof Continuous outshut to present entrance front with to left two 3-light mullion windows, and a 4 panel door flanked by single light windows, then two 2-light windows and a further 4 panel door, this wall completely rebuilt 1989. Altered openings to gable to road. Interior: 3 bays. 2 frames exist, both incomplete, of massive timbers. One has both posts, arch braced, but truss altered. The other frame has one post missing. Some purlins survive. Wall plates show clear evidence oftimber studdung. Some very finely coursed dry internal walling remains.

Barn, part timber framed. C.17 or earlier with C.18 walling. Altered. Hammer dressed stone. Stone slate roof. Entrance from farmyard between adjoining dwellings. Continuous outshut to rear. Altered openings to gable to road. Interior: 3 bays. 2 frames exist, both incomplete, of massive timbers. One has both posts, braced, but truss altered. The other frame has one post missing. Some purlins have been replaced. Ridge piece is missing. Wall plates show clear evidence of timber studding. Some very finely coursed dry internal walling remains.
