BURTON DASSETT SP45SW Knightcote 9/17 Knightcote Manor House 30/05/67 II
Manor house, now farmhouse. Mid/late C17 with slight C18 alterations. Ironstone ashlar. Concrete tile roof has moulded coped gable parapets with moulded kneelers; C19 brick end stacks. H-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Symmetrical 3-window centre has C19 four-panelled door with moulded surround and hood mould stepped down and continued across flanking 2-light windows. Stone recessed-chamfered mullioned windows almost throughout have hood moulds. 2-light first floor windows have continuous hood mould. Return sides of wings have 4-light windows, with 3-light windows above. Left wing has splayed plinth. 16-pane sashes have stone lintels with keystones. Right wing has 2-light windows on right. Left return side has C19 half-glazed door. Moulded basket arched doorway in straight head with moulded spandrels, and hood mould with lozenge stops. 3-light windows, renewed on ground floor. Right return side is a 2-window range. Plank door. 3-light windows. Small single light between floors. Fire window on right. Rear has shallow recessed centre. Irregular C19 windows. Interior: room to right noted as having stop-chamfered beam.
