Details
GARRATT LANE SW17 1. 5033 Lodge to St Clement Danes Almshouses TQ 2671 17/2 22.1.80 II GV 2. Dated 1848. By R Heskett. Gothic Revival. It is a single storey building of red brick with stone dressings, grey brick diaper and tiled saddleback roof, the diaper picking out on the north gable-end the legend 'CD 1848'. The entrance elevation has one 3-light mullion-and-transom window, one single- light window and a porch with pointed arch and hipped roof, the roof interrupting the blocked eaves cornice. The gable ends have stepped copings, that to the north surmounted by an octagonal pedestal with a lion couchant. The central stack supports a triplet of octagonal chimneys rising to common over- sailing courses. An integral part of the almshouses group.
