IDMISTON PORTON ROAD SU 13 NE (west side) 3/85 Wall, gate piers and gates to the Old Rectory GV II
Wall with gatepiers to east garden front of house, facing Porton Road. Early C18. Brick with stone copings. Flemish bond on twice offset foundations, total height approximately 1.5m, with a chamfered stone coping, rising to meet end and central gate piers opposite front entrance. Gate piers of 21-in brick with internal stop with a shaped top. Moulded brick neckings and flat stone cap with cyma cornice. Total length approximately 23m ending in 18-in piers with ball finials. Wall continues to south by a flint wall with some C17 brick quoins built in, and tiled copings. Total length of flint wall, approximately 21m, twice angled at south end.
