4/227 Preston Gate Cottage
II
Cottage, early C19 refacing of earlier building. Brick laced flint, possibly replacing timber framing, and thatched roof. Flint only at rear but brick quoins to openings. 1-storey and attic, 5 bays in 2 builds; to left, 3 bays with part glazed door opposite stack in the right bay, and attached to right, 2 bays with door in first bay and gable stack. Wall plate continuous. Segmental brick arches over ground floor casement windows. 2 flush dormers to attic, the thatch swept over. Oven to rear of main stack, apppearing externally.
