SE 11 SE SPRINGFIELD LANE Kirkburton 5/98 21/10/75 Springfield Mill G.V. II
Two mill blocks at 90° joined by mid C19 block which is not of interest. North range of c.1820, east range dated 1834. Hammer dressed stone (rendered south elevation to east block). Slate roofs with gable copings and stone brackets to iron gutters. 4 storeys and attic. North range east side: 6 bays of windows with late C19 or early C20 industrial casements, with continuous head band, and a central bay of loading doors. The 3 centre bays break forward slightly and are pedimented with blind oval and clock in tympanum. Continuous clerestory attic windows with glazing bars. Square lantern to roof with pent roof and finial. East range north side: 10 bays of late C19 or early C20 industrial casements. The centre 4 bays break forward slightly and have shallow pitched gable over with Venetian window with original glazing bars, below which is date 1834. Continuous clerestory attic window with glazing bars.
