SHENINGTON WITH ALKERTON KINWELL SP 3642-3742 (East side) Shenington 7/64 The Bay and The Old Almhouse GV II Kinwell is wrongly marked on O.S. map as Kenhill Road. 2 cottages. C17. Squared coursed ironstone. Steeply pitched thatched roof. Brick end and ridge stacks. Cottage on left one-unit, The Bay a 2-unit plan, forming a 3-unit plan altogether. 2 storeys. 2-window range each. Cottage on left. Entrance on right has plank door and moulded wood surround. A 2-light wood casement to left has wood lintel. The Bay. Approximately central entrance has plank door and wood lintel. Canted bay window on right with wood casement. Circular, slated bread oven projection on left. Attic has two 3-light wood casements with moulded wood frames. Interior. Stop-chamfered beam, inglenook fireplace with bread oven and C18/C19 surround, straight-flight staircase. Roof has principals and common rafters.
