10/52 The Gate House (formerly listed as cottage 20 yards 16.10.67 east of Bridge Street)
GV II
House. Retains one bay of C14 or C15 hall, largely refronted and remodelled late C19, further C20 additions. Brick on sandstone rubble plinth; Welsh slate roof. Single bay with C20 addition to east, enclosing gable-end stack; entrance bay now in C20 addition to east return. Two storeys; two 9-pane C20 glazing bar sash windows and pair of 6-pane C20 glazing bar sash windows to right. Ground floor with canted bay window to left. 6-pane sash window and pair of 8-pane C20 glazing bar sash windows to right. Included on account of survival of C14 or C15 truss formerly in east gable end but now enclosed by C20 addition. (RCHM, Vol III, p 164, item 10).
