- II*
House, now sub-divided into three tenements and partly derelict. C15 hall with inserted floor and cross-wings of C17, further late C19 alterations. Timber-framed with part wattle-and-daub and part brick infill with weather- board cladding to north-west gable-end of cross-wing, sandstone rubble plinth and part refacing, part stone slate and part tiled roof. Five-bay hall aligned south-west/north-east with stack (with two diagonal shafts) backing onto through- passage and cross+wing added across roofline in second bay from south-west, projecting cross-wing added at north-east end and extends to south-east. Single storey and attic. North-west entrance front: gable end of later cross- wing to left with 3-light casement window, ledged door to left of similar window on ground floor, hall range to right with window opening to left of ledged door, gable end of inserted cross-wing to right has one 2-light casement window with a similar 3-light window to the ground floor, 4-pane window to right, small lean-to extension to right enclosing large external gable-end stack and bread oven. Interior reveals three cruck trusses which appear largely intact with cambered tie-beams, cusped wind-braces to roof with smoke blackening, inserted Cl7 ceiling with moulded and chamfered beams, C17 staircase with moulded newels.
