SD 94 SE COWLING CARR HEAD ROAD 5/33 10.9.54 Lumb Mill House (formerly listed as Lumb Mill Farmhouse) GV II

House, 1696. Rubble with stone slate roof. Three chimneys. Two storeys; a 3-unit plan with outshut in centre of front to road containing the dated doorway, which has a fine moulding that carries up into the lintel, lettered "IW 1696". There is a 2-light double chamfered window above. To right of this a 3-light window of this type. At rear, a string forms hoodmoulds over double chamfered stone mullion windows of 3, 6 (with king mullion) and 4 lights; above are another of 3 lights, one 2-light chamfered window and 2 of 3 lights which are also related. Chamfered doorway in first bay. Inside are a large segmental arched chamfered fireplace and 2 triangular-headed stone doorways, one to the porch.
