Details
HIMBLETON CP HIMBLETON SO 95 NW 6/166 Snape House - II House. Early C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions. Timber-framed on lias limestone rubble plinth, painted brick infill and plain tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned north/south with chimney inserted between north and central bay with brick ridge stack and external brick chimney with off-sets at south gable end. Single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate; south gable end collar and tie-beam truss has two collars, four struts to lower and two to upper collar, concave V-strut in apex. West front elevation: ground floor has two rectangular lights, a 3-light casement, and, in C19 outshut to right, a bay window with a central 12-pane sash and 8-pane side sashes; two gabled dormers with 2-light casements; lean-to tiled porch with C20 door. Attic light with plank weathering in south gable end. Interior not inspected. A C19 single-bay addition adjoins north gable end.
