GV II

Farmhouse. Probably early C17 with later extensions. Roughly coursed painted sandstone rubble, Welsh slate roof hipped to south with two brick ridge stacks. Rectangular plan aligned roughly north/south. Cellar with two storeys, three windows, late C19 casements with two lights, entry to left with nailed and studded C17 door in 4-centred head, second entry to right of centre and in C20 glazed porch. Attached to the house to the north under a continuous roof is a granary extension, probably C18 over a wash-house basement, the upper level of which is reached by tollet stairs from the front with a 3-barred opening to the right of the entry. To the south is a lower range with one storey and attic said to have been a cider- house which has tallet stairs, over a dog kennel, leading to a C18 ledged door in the south gable. Interior: both porch and south extensions have interrupted trusses with dropped tie-beams.
