GV II*

Farmhouse. Late C16 to early C17. Sandstone rubble plinth, timber-frame with plaster infill, Welsh slate roof and tile hanging, external stone stacks with detached brick shafts. E-plan with wings extending south-eastwards. Cellar with two storeys and attics. South-east elevation has 1:2:1 windows, 2-light early C20 casements, outer gables have 3-light casements, one first floor casement to left of central porch and one to each side on ground floor, timber-framed porch is supported on moulded timber posts and has a pair of curved struts in the gable, C17 panelled entrance door. Mid-C19 brick lean- to single-storey extension to right-hand side. Frame is of regular square panels, two to ground floor and three from first floor to wall-plate level. Interior has C17 panelling in central hall, early C18 panelling in front first floor room of south wing, two-flight early C18 dog-leg staircase with turned balusters, several rooms have stop-chamfered ceiling beams (RCHM, Vol I, p 163).
