11/228 Ruscombe United Reformed Church
II
Former Congregational Chapel, now United Reformed Church. 1828. Ashlar limestone Welsh slate roof. Rectangular with lobby/stair projection to south end. West side: 3-window fenestration on 2 levels, all round arched with keystones and keystone-shaped imposts, windows with glazing bars to round arched lights. Plain upper level sill course. Doorway in similar opening projects to right in small frontispiece, blank inscription panel and moulded cornice above. Parapet gabled ends, each with 2 upper level round- arched windows and round-arched gable slit vent. Lower central parapet gabled stair lobby at south end with tall round arched window. Corridor to left with lean-to roof links with entrance doorway. Interior not inspected. (N.M. Herbert, 'Stroud' in V.C.H. Glos. xi, 1976, pp. 99-145; and D.
