MELKRIDGE COWBURN RIGG NY 76 NW 735685 12/63 Lime kiln, 300 metres north of Cowburn Rigg Farmhouse II
Disused lime kiln. Late C18. Squared stone. Single-cell kiln built partly into bankside. Battered front wall with corbelled triangular-headed opening. Remains of segmental-arched pot in rear wall of kiln.
