PEPPARD ROAD 1. 5128 (South-East Side) No 30 (Chiltern Nursery Training College) SU 7175 10/277 II 2. Early C19. 2 storeys. Stucco with slate hipped roof. Wide bracketed eaves cornice, with central pedimented gable on south front. Band over - ground floor and string below eaves. Main block 3 bays, glazing bar sash windows; on ground floor large, formerly tripartite, 4-light windows with console brackets at top of frames and mullions (4 to each window). Central double door, each leaf having circular central panel and shaped panels above and below, in framing of coupled panelled pilasters, with wide segmental fanlight over (curved and circular glazing pattern). The door is recessed by fluted Doric columns in antis under main outer wall and approached by 5 steps. Lower altered 2 storey wing to left with 5 windows, glazing bar sashes, and dividing pilaster strips. Full-height set back wing to right: 2 windows on 1st floor, bracket eaves and C20 lean-to verandah. Interior: large stair hall, staircase with mahogony rail. 3 ground floor rooms with panelled ceilings and little pendants. Enriched cornices.
