Details
BIBURY BIBURY VILLAGE SP 1006-1106 11/66 Coach House Bar approximately 50m north of Bibury Court Hotel GV II Formerly stables; now public bar. Late C16; early and later C20 alterations. Random rubble limestone; stone slate roof. Single- storey with former loft. Cross roll saddles to parapet gabled ends, west having indications of former doorway to ground floor, now with C20 casement; 2-light recessed cavetto mullioned casement above with hoodmould. East end also altered. Early features clearly visible on north side include blocked Tudor arched doorway with 2 flanking blocked Tudor arched loft openings. Further blocked Tudor arched doorway in gabled loft dormer; small Tudor arched recess below. Two C20 two-light lancets inserted on south side; C20-built loft stair. Although altered, this building appears to be an unusually early stable) contemporary with earliest part of Bibury Court Hotel (q.v.) with which it is grouped.
