Town house, now offices. C16 partly rebuilt and extended early C18,
altered C20. Rear part timber framed; part encased in brick and part
brick infill. Front section dark red brick. Part old tile roof,
part slate. L-plan with 4 framed bays at rear. 2 storeys. Chimneys at
rear. 5 bay symmetrical C18 brick front. Chamfered plinths,
first floor string, angle piers. the whole height, embracing brick
dentilled string under moulded wooden cornice. Panelled parapet with
stone coping. Sash windows with glazing bars in architrave frames under
rubbed brick arches with scrolls on 1:3:5 bays on first floor. 8-panelled
central door, top panels glazed, in architrave surround, and with flat
moulded hood on carved scroll brackets; small brass urn knocker.
Interior:- Parts of timber frame exposed in rear section with heavy joists
and one principal beam with chamfers and run-out stops. Large fireplace
in third framed bay. Front section has early C19 stairs with stick balusters
and wreathed handrail; C18 wall panelling and moulded ceiling cornice in
front office at east end. Windows have panelled shutters, some with
