Details
SEATON SLUICE THE HARBOUR NZ 3376 14/111 King's Arms Hotel with coach-house to east GV II Inn, probably early C18. Roughly-squared stone, colour-washed; blue slate roof with C20 brick stacks; pantiles on garage to rear. 3 storeys, 3 wide bays. Central doorway within C20 brick porch, flanked by renewed windows in old openings with irregular-block surrounds. 4-pane sashes in similar surrounds above. To right of centre bay inserted windows on ground and 1st floors. End stacks. Left return shows coach-house to far left with boarded double doors under segmental arch, with similar doors in pent garage to right.
The coach-house was the H.M. Coastguard station in the C19. Flat-roofed C20 extensions to rear of hotel are not of special interest.
