Details
NORTHLEACH WITH EAST END SP 1114 EASTINGTON (north side), Northleach 8/69 Union Cottage GV II
Detached house. Dated and initialled 'T. R. 1837' on stone plaque between first floor windows. Coursed squared and dressed limestone, concrete tile roof, ashlar stacks. Rectangular main body with later lean-to extension at rear. Symmetrical, 2-storey, 2-windowed facade lit by 4-pane sashes within plain architraves and rudimentary keystones. Central, C20 fielded 6-panel door, upper 2 panels glazed, up 3 steps. Flat-roofed canopy with moulded margin supported by two Doric stone columns. Catslide roof at rear. Stacks and flat coping at gable ends. Interior not inspected. Built at same time as The Union Workhouse (q.v. Northleach Hospital) the occupant presumably being associated with the workhouse. Included for group value.
