Semi-detached house, formerly west wing of Vicarage. c1722. Brick walls, tiled roof with stone eaves courses, hipped at left end. Brick stack set in from left end, with corner pilasters and oversailing cap. 2 storeys and attic. Moulded plat band at first floor level. At right end, by junction with Old Vicarage (qv), a single storey flat roofed porch with parapet and cornice. 6-panel door with fanlight in moulded round arched surround, with pilasters, and keystone. In main house, ground floor has 4 sashes with glazing bars under gauged arches with keystones. Brick aprons below cills. First floor has 4 similar sashes, and one, similar but segmental headed, above porch. Attic has 2 hipped dormers with casements with glazing bars. 2 storey hipped roofed staircase extension at rear. Single storey later rear extensions. In left gable wall, 2 semi-circular headed recesses on each floor. Evidence of former niches, internally, corresponding to these. Internally, main ground floor rooms have deep moulded cornices and raised panel dadoes. Raised panel doors. Cut string stair with 3 turned balusters per tread, wreathed handrail and carved spandrel brackets. (RCHM Monumnent 4 Dorset Vol III)
