19/99 Brown headstone 17 metres south of east end of Church of St. Mary GV II

Headstone, 1799. Sandstone. Relief-carved top panel with anchor, rope, trumpet, arrow and scythe, flanked by shipwreck scenes. Inscription 'To the Memory of Geo. Brown of Bedlington Master Mariner who on the 5th of AP; 1799 was wreck'd on this Coast aged 46 years.
