Details

LANGTON LONG BLANDFORD - ST 80 NE 2/2 The Old Rectory GV II

Rectory, now private dwelling. C18 origin but much enlarged and extended early C19. Part rendered, part banded rubble and brick. Slate roofs with end rendered stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys, 3 bay main facade. Central bay defined by pilasters and pedimented. Upper floor had 2-light casements with glazing bars, ground floor has sashes with glazing bars. Central French doors.

Internal features (RCHM): stairs with plain balustrade and mahogany handrail; reset C16 stone, 2-light windows. (RCHM, Dorset, vol.IV, p.44, no.7.)
