II*

House. Mid C17, altered early C18, additions late C19 and C20. Brick with
plain tiled roofs. H plan. West front 2 storeys and attic on plinth. 3 central
bays flanked by stepped cross wings of one bay each. Late C20 central door
with fluted timber pilasters to doorcase. One C19 sash window left and right,
3 early C18 sashes to first floor. All under gauged skewback arches. Brick
string course with hood mould divides floor. Gabled roof with single late C20
gabled dormer. Cross wings of 2½ storeys : casements to lower 2 storeys with
rusticated skewback arches; string courses at floors, that to second floor
arcaded; attic windows under 4-centred arches. These windows C18 except ground
floor south (late C20) and ground floor north (C19). Internal stack to north
and 2 external stacks to south wings. East front much altered but retains many
early C18 casements. Ogee moulded and ribbed bridging beams in hall. This
room panelled and fireplace overmantel added C19.
