SOUTH STREET 1. 1625 (North-East Side) Duck House including garden wall and railings ST 6316 1/221 II GV 2. Early to mid C19. High 2 storey 3 window ashlar front at right angles to road. Wide eaves soffit with paired brackets above pilasters. One central dormer. Sash windows to 1st floor. Central round-headed doorway with reeded imposts, fanlight. Ground floor windows are large Venetian sashes set in sunk etched panels. Incised decoration in spandrels. Fluted pilasters strips between lights and fluted archivolt. A wall of rough ashlar and dwarf wall and railings enclose the garden to the south east of the house. A short length of wall is attached to the left angle of the house; beyond it is a gate flanked by a pier; to south-east again is a stone dwarf wall with ashlar coping. Railings have uprights with spear-headed finials and panelled standards at intervals. Probably contemporary with the house.

Nos 1 to 8 (consec), Duck House including garden wall and railings, Gainsborough House including Dwarf wall, railings and gate, outbuilding to south of Gainsborough House, gate piers to the Old Bidewell, The Antique Shop, Lodbourne Hall, Ye Olde Cottage including garden walls and railings form a group.
