Group of 5 tombs. From 1776 to 1810. Stone and gault brick. Each tomb consists of a body-stone set on about 3 courses of gault brick with a head- stone and a similar yet shorter tombstone set at the foot of the grave. Headstones and "footstones" engraved to memory of Benjamin + 1776 and Elizabeth + 1784 Gooch, Shute + 1776 and Dorothea + 1785 D'Urban, John D'Urban M.D. + 1782, George Parker + 1792 and Elizabeth D'Urban + 1810. 4 headstones with volutes supporting pediments enclosing urns flanked by cherubs whilst that of George Parker has a circular medallion with a draped female figure on one knee with an outstretched arm resting on an anchor. Historical associaton: Benjamin Gooch was a famous surgeon associated with the found- ation of the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
