The Old Rectory

(Formerly listed as The Old Manor House, previously listed as The Old Rectory, previously listed as The Vicarage)

14-7-55

GV
II*
House, former vicarage. c1780, probably by Sir William Chambers. Plastered walls, hipped stone slate roof, brick stacks in centre of roof. Double-pile plan, with lead flat in centre of roof. Two storeys and attic. Central flush panel door flanked by sidelights with glazing bars. Above this a lunette window with glazing bars - all this slightly recessed. On each side of this central feature, ground and first floors each have two sashes with glazing bars. Attic has three hipped dormers with casements with centre glazing bar. At right end, a lean-to outbuilding, of flint, with slate roof. Behind this a single-storey outbuilding range with one ledged door and pair of garage doors.

Interior rather plain. Cut string stair with blocked spandrels, plain balusters and wreathed handrail. Some raised panel doors.
