House. C16 or earlier. Back wall good squared limestone, otherwise rubble, and timber frame to upper floor and gable, tiled roof. Gable to street, L-plan, former cross passage and probably hall house: One and a half storeys 1+3-windowed, irregular, with 2 small gabled dormers over 2-light casement, C20 french doors, plank door under flat canopy, and C19 2-light casement; in return gable, left, two 2-light C20 casements, all casements with C20 leading. Back wall includes two low buttresses with heavy offsets. To road cut squared limestone, coped gable, 3-light ovolo mould casement under stopped drip and small 2-light casement with leading and very small light to stair, in wall to gable extension, right, 3-light casement. Interior has 3 pairs heavy upper crucks,newel stair at south end, various timber framed partitions, fine wood bressummer fireplace at north end and very deep stone bressummer fireplace at south end. Property formerly known as Walnut Tree cottages.
