Details
BRADWELL BURGH FOOTPATH TG 50 NW (north side) 5/11 Barn at Bradwell Hall Farm (formerly listed as rn at Bradwell Hall 27.11.54 Bradwell Hall and barn dated G.V. II 1731, Harper's Lane)
Barn, originally stables with hayloft. Dated 1731. Brick with pantile roof. Brickwork has diamond diaper in burnt headers all over. North side now with garage opening lined with breeze blocks under a steel lintel. East gable pierced with 4 segmental-headed windows and with date in large raised brick numerals : S.K. 1731. Much tumbling in both gable heads. Access to hayloft from south side via C20 steps and sloping through eaves dormer entrance. Interior. Heavy bridging beams and chamfered joists. Roof of principals carried on arched braces from tie beams. 2 tiers staggered butt purlins and collars.
