Originally a C15 hall house, timber-framed and plastered. Renovated and much
altered and added to but with much of the original frame remaining. It was
a moated house but only part of the moat remains. Two storeys. Modern casement
windows. Roof tiled, with a central C17 square chimney stack with a rebuilt
shaft. The interior has exposed timber-framing, ceiling beams and joists and
the roof has smoke blackened timbers. (RCHM 8).
