FONTMELL MAGNA BEDCHESTER Woodbridge Lane Bedchester House

(Formerly listed as Bedchester Farmhouse BEDCHESTER, previously listed under FONTWELL MAGNA)


Farmhouse, C17, with much subsequent alteration. Ashlar and rubble walls with thatched roofs. End brick stacks and at intersection of ranges. L-plan.

Main facade: two storeys, three window range. Casement windows with glazing-bars. Central C19 porch containing plank door. To the rear is a blocked timber mullioned window with wattle and daub infil and the remains of a wall-plate showing that the house was probably originally single storeyed. The windows of the rear range have C19 brick dressings.
