7/167 Whitefield Farm House 24/3/71 II
Detached house. C17 origin, enlarged in C18. Brick walls, with rubble stone in bases. Thatched roof. Brick end stacks. 2 storeys. Single- storey lean-to on south with slate roof. Single-storey rear lean-to, also slated. Brick gabled porch with elliptical arched opening. Panelled door. Ground and first floors each have 3 casement windows with glazing bars. In rear wall, some C18 windows survive - oak, with lead lights. Internally, both main ground floor rooms have large open fireplaces with timber lintols - that at the north end also has timber jambs. Some deep chamfered ceiling beams. RCHM Monument 40.
