Building of uncertain purpose, now hall, garages and store. Early C16, altered in C19 and C20. Timber framed, plastered with some exposed framing, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. 5 bays facing NW. Early C19 extension to front left bay, comprising a small first-floor room supported on posts, and covered stair to left of it, the latter with a slate roof. 2 storeys. Ground floor, one C18/early C19 sash of 12 lights. First floor, one similar sash in extension, and 2 early C19 sashes of 16 lights, with crown glass. 3 pairs of vehicle doors, one 6-panel door, and one plain door below extension. Full- length jetty with exposed joists of horizontal section. Short weatherboarded dado below ground-floor window. Studding exposed on 3 bays of the upper storey, with 2 'Suffolk' braces trenched to the outside. Chamfered transverse and axial beams with mason's mitre stops, most joists plastered to the soffits. Upper storey almost wholly lined with modern materials, some original wattle and daub infill visible in right end wall. Abuts on Chapel Hotel to NE (item 9/146, q.v.). RCHM 50.
