TWINSTEAD TL 83 NE 5/110 Old Roses Farmhouse

- II

Farmhouse. Late C17 or C18. Timber framed and plastered with peg tile roof, gabled at west end and hipped at the east. Of 2 storeys with gabled 2 storey extensions on rear and continuous rear lean-to. Large off-centre ridgeline stack and smaller stack against west gable end. South (front) elevation has 3 grouped double hung sashes with square panes and moulded surrounds, over 2 similar windows and a central early C19 doorcase with open pediment on curved brackets. These are regularly disposed over the left hand end of the elevation. To the right are 3 single light casements with diamond leaded lights on each storey. This building is said to have been moved from adjoining field in early C19.
