Court or Toll house, probably built as shops. 1559 with later repairs. Timber framed with rendered brick and wattle and daub infill. Plain tile roof. 2 storey with meeting chamber raised on 8 timber Tascan columns standing on cast iron bases on stone plinths. Columns date from 1754/5. Central whipping post with arm clamps. Upper floor supported on ovolo moulded timber entablature of 1754. 2 paired arched windows louvred on west face. Remainder with light engaged studding. Timber eaves cornice with paired modillions C18. Hipped roof with timber pinnacle supporting wind vane. Interior has crown post on bridging beam chamfered with tongue stops. Transverse beams on crown post and triradial bracing to west. Scheduled Ancient Monument, County Number 203.
