WYHAM CUM CADEBY CADEBY TF 29 NE 1/52 Cadeby Hall II*
Small country house, now empty and partly derelict. Early C18, raised late C18. Ashlar with asbestos hipped roof and 2 ridge red brick stacks. 3 storey, 7 bay front 2:3:2, with plinth and moulded second floor sill band. Central 8 panelled door having moulded and eared surround with stepped key blocks and a broken segmental pediment on scrolled brackets, flanked by 3 glazing bar sashes, in moulded stone architraves with key block. To first floor are 7 similar windows. To second floor are 7 smaller sashes with splayed ashlar lintels. It is clear from the rear that the top storey is a late C18 addition. Interior retains fine early C18 stair and gallery with moulded wreathed handrail, fluted newels, decorative carved open string and 3 turned and knopped balusters to the tread, alternately fluted, barley sugar and twisted. In the hall is a large fireplace surround with moulded scrolled brackets, and pediment. Stair and part of hall have raised and fielded dado panelling. The house stood in landscaped terraces and the viewing mound is still intact.
