ST GILES ST GILES IN THE WOOD SS 53 18 IN THE WOOD 18/238 Brinmead headstone approximately - 31 metres south-south-west of the tower of the Church of St Giles
GV II
Headstone. Dated 1788 in memory of Grace Brinmead. Slate. Upright slab standing approximately 450 millimetres with rounded corners. In the centre of the head is carved a winged cherubs head flanked by scrolled decoration and with scrolls down the sides. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering and it records the death of Grace Brinsmead in 1788 and her daughter Mary. This stone has been repositioned here.
